Hale Farm and Village

Hale Farm and Village is a historic property of the Western Reserve Historical Society located in Bath Township, Summit County, Ohio. Its mission is to preserve and share the story of the Western Reserve through an experiential learning community. It captures the story of the Hale Family and their 200-year-old family farm nestled in the Cuyahoga Valley. It includes a home, a retreat and, since 1958, an outdoor living history museum.

Project Objectives/Challenges

The property’s HVAC units were all dated and inefficient. Hale Farm and Village’s executive director solicited bids for replacement, and CLS Mechanical Services was awarded the work.

What CLS Mechanical Services Did

CLS Mechanical Services replaced 13 old and inefficient HVAC split systems with new energy-efficient systems, as well as a make-up air system in the property’s kitchen.

Specific equipment that was installed included:

  • Nine (9) five-ton split systems rated at 16 SEER and 93% efficiency
  • Two (2) 3.5-ton split systems with 16 SEER and 93% efficiency
  • Two (2) 3.5-ton fan coils with 16 SEER condensers
  • A 100% make-up air unit
  • Six (6) electric wall heaters
  • One (1) bath exhaust fan

CLS Mechanical Services completed the project in a timely manner without interrupting any events taking place at the facility. CLS Mechanical Services technicians tested all equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation, and delivered a completed project with energy savings to the client.

Following the project, Hale Farm and Village has called on CLS Mechanical for several reactive HVAC needs.
